As a spraypainter in my third year apprenticeship 49 years past I first did work for John. In 1983 a redundancy situation created an opportunity at Doune respraying the fleet.
Jock suggested I should apply for my HGV provisional and learn off the old drivers. I did, and passed my test then went on to driving trucks for a living which I did nearly 40 years.
Jock gave me that opportunity, which was the start of work experience for which I am eternally grateful.
